How collection works
Used cooking oil collection, recycling and purchasing explained.
California kitchens and food plants cannot pour used cooking oil down the drain or place it in the trash. Fryer oil, yellow grease, tallow, lard and shortening must be stored in a sealed container and removed by a collection service that recycles the material. The Grease Company places the containers, runs the route and hauls the oil away, so your team never handles disposal or hunts for a hauler when a tote fills up.
Every pickup starts with the container. We size storage to your fryer count and production volume — indoor caddies for tight kitchens, lidded outdoor bins for shared enclosures, drums, IBC totes and fixed tanks for manufacturing. Containers stay locked and leak-resistant so your service area stays clean, pest-free and inspection-ready.
On route day our technician pumps the oil into a vacuum tank truck, wipes down the collection area and logs the volume collected. Qualifying oil is purchased — we pay top dollar based on quality and volume — and the material moves on to approved recycling and rendering partners where it is refined into feedstock for renewable fuel and other products, instead of heading to landfill or the sewer system.
Expired, out-of-code, off-spec, recalled and surplus food-grade oil follows a separate bulk path. We remove it by the drum, tote, pallet or tanker load from food plants, co-packers, warehouses, 3PLs, distributors and transport companies, and provide pickup records for your waste and quality files.

Yes. We place sealed indoor caddies, outdoor bins, drums, IBC totes or fixed tanks sized to your operation, and we service and clean them on route.
